Even though there are a lot of big rivers (such as Olt, Mures, Prut, Tisa, Danube), and lakes (such as Snagov, Cernica, Budeasa, etc.), where you can successfull fish for pike, the place in Romania where this sport is really fabulous is the Danube Delta. There you feel the thrill of passion in a special and unique way.

a) First of all you must get to the place where the pike bites. You are facing the biggest delta in Europe, a huge network of lakes which communicate through canals and you are armed with your rod and boat. You must take into account every detail, speciffically:

1. The level of The Danube.
2. The variation of it
3. The turbidity of the water
4. The temperature of air and water
5. The wind
6. The atmospheric pressure
7. The time of the year
8. The light

This is the point where you can test your fishing knowledge. Or you can employ a local professional fisherman to guide you.

b) Select and try different lures. Spoons, spinners, plugs, flies, naturals, having thousands of colours, shapes and patterns. But only one may be successful in that day in that place.

c) Fighting fish that probably have not seen men before, and fight like mads. Spectacular jumps out of the water, passes under the boat, rushes upstream and downstream, everything is there for you.

d) You have the chance to hook other species of fish: Perch, at a considerable size, zander, asp, and catfish, whose weight may be written with three figures, and others.
